Grouplove- Grouplove (Album Review)

Energy!
This could be the summer EP that you are looking for with all the cheery sounds you want in your music. Acoustically driven, this album is clear, yet the electrics come in to really fill out the driving parts. When the song Naked Kids comes on you can’t help but smile and chuckle to your self a little. Maybe we could all use a little more freedom sometimes.

The Good!
This really does have energy behind it that is really fun. The lyrics are heart warming talking about love for brothers, kisses for mothers, and band members that are soul mates. The duet between Hannah Hooper and Christian Zucconi is beautiful with Hannah soaring over the solid Christian.

The Bad…
Some of the cord progressions get a little repetitive and are slightly too simplistic, yet maybe that is the beauty in the songs. I know one downside for sure, 6 songs, I am always left wanting more. That’s about it…

Overall?
4.5 out of 5. This is a great album to pick up for the summer. It couldn’t make the perfect because 6 songs can’t be repeated to long before you realize that you know the songs in and out. Put it on in the car and drive fast, laughing at all the cars you pass.
